The Four Seasons hotel is the most prestigious hotel complex in Bahrain. The concrete superstructure relies on twin cores that rise the full 201 meter height of the tower. Pairs of outer shear walls surround and act in tandem with the inner cores, which are joined laterally to form a wide flange floor plan in three vertical zones: the entry level, the suspended hotel and the restaurant/sky bar. At each non-balcony level in the hotel, five pairs of concrete shear walls cantilever perpendicularly from the twin shear walls and simultaneously act as demising walls for guest rooms. For the guest floors on the balcony levels, floor slabs are supported by tension columns hanging directly from the cantilevered shear walls.
