Over the period from 1998 until 2000 the headquarters of Düsseldorf’s savings bank were completely renovated and extended. Werner Sobek carried out the engineering of all the special steel/glass structures. Among these are, for instance, a 170 m long glass wall which partially functions as a facade for venting waste air from the building, as well as a 12 m high glass canopy on the roof of the building which is stiffened by glass ribs and continues the outline of the tower facade.
