The Josef Eberle Bridge provides an important link in the medieval centre of Rottenburg am Neckar. The three-bay, reinforced concrete bridge construction stretches elegantly over the river. The body of the bridge consists of prestressed concrete slabs up to 60 cm thick. The cross-section becomes narrower towards the edges of the bridge and at the abutments. The very low overall height of the bridge superstructure was made possible by the use of cutting-edge building technologies and pre-stressed concrete utilising high-strength concretes.
