The Post Tower in Bonn/Germany is linked to the nearby shore of the river Rhine by a pedestrian bridge across the Charles de Gaulle street. The bridge designed by Werner Sobek is approximately 35 m long and 13 m large. It is a composite structure with steel girders and adjacent concrete slabs forming the transition to the bearing. The structure could be realised without any joints since the position of the bearing on piles is horizontally flexible. The railing is made of glass with partially curved panes.
