This ceiling installation made of textile lampshades that unfurl when they are rotated was designed for a space in the new building at the Experimenta Heilbronn science centre. Created in collaboration with researchers from the University of Stuttgart, the installation embodies the simplicity of lightweight construction. A special folding technique means that the textile lampshades open out when they are rotated and fold back up again automatically when they come to a stop. The movements of the individual elements can be coordinated precisely with one another, allowing an harmonious interplay to develop between the ceiling installation and the flow of visitors below.
