The City of Augsburg’s Housing Association is planning to construct a new high-density, multi-storey housing complex on the site of the former Reese Barracks in Augsburg. Located on Ulmer Straße, the site’s residential buildings also contain space for commercial use on the ground floor. The multi-storey project is being planned in accordance with the funding guidelines for social housing developments. Overall, the complex consists of an eastern section with a footprint of 5,300 m² and a western section with a footprint of 2,500 m². An underground garage with approximately 200 parking spaces is situated in the basement.

Designed by Titus Bernhard Architekten, the new development is made up of two five-storey sections that include a total of 141 residential units. The ground floor contains retail space and associated ancillary areas (for deliveries, storage, parking, etc.). Built using a conventional load-bearing construction, the project has an overall gross floor area of approximately 26,500 m². Thanks to the meticulous application of building physics analysis to the entire planning process, the new structures have also achieved the KfW Efficiency House 55 Standard for energy efficiency.
