Tokyo Station Yaesu Redevelopment is one of the largest and most important projects in central Tokyo. The redevelopment consists of a new entry to the station, two towers and a canopy. The canopy is a wide-span membrane structure designed by Werner Sobek that covers the complete distance between the two towers. Because of its complex geometry, the calculation of the membrane demanded particular engineering proficiency. in 2015, the project was awarded the 26th Incentive Award by JSCA.
