The Stadtoval (“City Oval”) is one of the most important urban development projects in the German city of Aalen. It consists of an extremely agreeable assortment of residences, commercial premises, cultural institutions and open spaces that are all being created in the immediate vicinity of the railway station. Werner Sobek is in charge of planning E12, i.e. the construction of two detached apartment buildings for the area. Standing at three and four storeys high respectively, the two structures contain a total of 25 residences and share an underground parking garage with spaces for 28 cars. The building plot measures 1,966 m² in size. The gross floor area of the structures lies in the region of 4,900 m², of which approximately 3,300 m² is situated above ground and around 1,600 m² is located beneath the surface.
