17 m of Transparency

The Messeturm in Frankfurt was the highest building in Europe when it opened in 1991. Almost 30 years later its revitalisation is now being carried out by JAHN with Werner Sobek as façade and structural engineers. Four large glass facades enlarge the lobby area and ensure maximum transparency. Each of the four facades consists of nine insulating glass units with a size of up to 17 m x 2.85 m. To achieve a perfectly curved façade, insulating glass units with lamination-bent laminated glass are used. Recently the last of these panes was successfully installed. The photographer René Müller captured this important moment for us. Many thanks for this!
