Trumpf Gate House

The entrance pavilion of the Trumpf company in Ditzingen shows an alternative form of extreme dematerialisation. The central element of the highly transparent facade is an acrylic glass sword that is connected to the facade panes as a stiffening post.

Acrylic Glass Sword Enables Extreme Dematerialisation

The use of acrylic glass made it possible to manufacture the mullions with a slenderness that is far beyond the production limitations for conventional glass swords. The transparency and reduction of this construction are further emphasised by the extremely slender canopy, which cantilevers almost 16 m freely.
