The SBF Tower is 190 m tall high-rise in Shenzhen/China. It features 41 floors with a square building plan of 49 x 49 m. The design by Austrian architects Hans Hollein and Christoph Monschein initially integrated three vertical “skygardens”, each about six floors in height. These skygardens give the tower a very distinct appearance with significantly improved comfort for the inhabitants and very working conditions. Werner Sobek’s sustainability consulting for the project will secure a LEED gold rating. Sustainable features include a box-type double skin facade that will significantly reduce cooling loads and improve the use of daylight in the interior.
