The Gira production and office building in Radevormwald consists of two almost identical halls. The dimensions of each hall are 71.5 x 22.5 m in plan. Its interior is completely column-free due to the characteristic steel arch construction of the supporting structure on the first floor.

Steel Arch Construction for a Column-Free Storey

The supporting structure itself is composed of welded sheets. The two-hinged frame consists of flexurally rigidly connected frame stems and frame rails. These are hinged at the base points.

Werner Sobek was responsible for the structural engineering of the project.
