Werner Sobek was responsible for the structural engineering of the general renovation of the 4-storey office building B95 in Munich. The building, which has two basement floors and an underground car park, was designed to interfere with the solid building structure. Plans included 150 m² ceiling openings to form atriums and the complete cutting back of the ceiling edges of the upper floors to create a new ceiling contour. In addition, the partial demolition of stairwells and lift shafts was decided.

Solid Building Structure Gives Way to Atriums

New lift shafts were planned, as well as a new two-storey computer centre in the basement and various measures to implement the architectural and building services concept. The existing technical floor on the 4th floor was completely dismantled and replaced by an additional full floor and a new technical centre in light steel construction on the 5th floor.
