Audi Motorshow Stand

The Audi stand for the IAA 1999 and other leading trade fairs consisted of a glass shaft with multiple curvatures. It was atmospherically staged by the projection of coloured light and changing film sequences.

Shaft Made of Stainless Steel Tubes Carrying Rope Netting

The outer shell of the stand was 6 m high and, depending on the stand size, 100 to 300 m long. 4 mm thick panes of satinised toughened safety glass were held in place by a close-meshed cable net, which in turn was stretched into a supporting rod structure of bent, intersecting stainless steel tubes.

Werner Sobek was responsible for the structural engineering of the supporting structure and special structures for the project.
