Willy Brandt Bridge

A pedestrian bridge on Willy-Brandt-Strasse was to connect the new urban quarters in the Speicherstadt to Hamburg’s city centre. A deliberately restrained structure was chosen for the appearance of the building in order to set the construction back from the existing, mature architecture.

Minimised Superstructure, High-Quality Details

The design quality is achieved through the extremely minimised superstructure with only a few repetitive high-quality details. Werner Sobek was commissioned with the structural engineering of this project.
