Sixteen municipalities are participating in the collaborative ‘White Stations’ project that has been organised as part of the 2019 Intercommunal State Horticultural Show in Remstal. Berlin-based architectural firm Barkow Leibinger joined forces with Werner Sobek to design a sculptural structure for the town of Fellbach. Made of metal and intertwined with climbing plants, the work is located on an offshoot of a path to the north of the Wilflinger site on the eastern side of the Kappelberg hill. The structure stands at a height of approx. 5 m and occupies a plot of approx. 10 × 10 m in size. The three-dimensional composition is made up of standard metal profiles that are joined together with invisible pin connections. These profiles consist of round metal tubes that are bent into smooth curves at the corners, giving the impression that they have been produced from one continuous piece of tubing.
