New Bridge in Homberg

The construction and renovation of bridges is also one of Werner Sobek’s core competencies in structural design. A good example is the foot and cycle path bridge in Homberg (Ohm). The superstructure of the original timber-frame bridge was dilapidated and had to be removed; the abutments and central supports made of reinforced concrete could be reused. The beam bridge is made of steel with duplex coating and a railing with stainless steel cable netting. The careful detailing of the construction allowed a quick and easy assembly of all prefabricated individual components on site.
