Living in the Future

Peter Sloterdijk, probably the most prominent modern philosopher and the designer Werner Sobek discuss their ideas of living in the future. In his work about “Wohnschäume” (Spheres III) Sloterdijk developes a philosophy about space which has a far-reaching effect on the existing architectural theory. In his quest for visionary forms of living Werner Sobek, architect and engineer, applies innovative materials and methods. A model of his research project R129, a residential glass ellipsoid, was part of the widely acclaimed exhibition “Interieur/Exterieur. Living in Art.” at the Kunstmuseum Wolfsburg, where, in the foyer with standing room only, the two visionaries held their dialogue on 28 February 2009.
