A new city district is currently being built in the old storehouse area of Hamburg harbour. To link this district to the old city centre, a pedestrian bridge is to cross the Willy-Brandt Street. A particular challenge for the design of this bridge was the necessity to integrate it into a very heterogeneous architectural surrounding. Therefore the structure of the bridge is deliberately taken back. The design is distinguished by an extremely minimized superstructure and very few, repetitive details of very high quality.
