The object „Himmelsflügel“ (Wing of Heaven) was designed as a temporary sculpture spanning over the river Pegnitz for the „Blue Night“ event in Nuremberg. 130 blue balloons – shaped as a 52 m wide wing – float nearly weightless above the river and dance poetically in the wind. The 2.5 m dia. balloons were anchored in the Pegnitz by means of a nearly invisible cable net. This project has been sponsored by Werner Sobek to support cultural activities.
