After completion of Hall 3A in 2014, NürnbergMesse is now expanded with an additional exhibition hall (Hall 3C) and a congress center. As in Hall 3A, the Hall 3C featured high sustainability standards resulting in a DGNB certification. The trapezoidal hall has a maximum length of 165 m (at the north facade) and a width of 84 m. The loadbearing structure is made of steel, with the roof freely spanning the space between the northern and the southern facades. An adjacent building along the northern facade houses supply units, offices, toilets, restaurants etc. This three-storey high structure is built in reinforced concrete.

Werner Sobek carried out a DGNB quick check and a DGNB certification for the system variant ‘Place of Assembly’. In the course of the evaluation, Werner Sobek assessed the criteria ‘ecological quality’, ‘economic quality’, ‘socio-cultural and functional quality’, ‘technical quality’, ‘process quality’, and ‘site quality’. Werner Sobek prepared, coordinated and evaluated all proofs required for certification. The evaluation of life cycle costs and the preparation of a life cycle assessment were also part of these services. In addition, Werner Sobek advised the architects with regard to material ecology.

The Hall 3C achieves the highest overall score of 90.5 per cent for a DGNB certification in 2019.
