The construction over the B14 of seven buildings debouching into landscaped gardens and art areas represents a new interpretation of the urban space as part of the dialog with the existing environment. The various buildings define important meeting points. A prominent focus is provided by the extension of the Staatsgalerie, which represents a necessary expansion of the existing museums of the city and acts as a modern gateway to the city. The sound tunnel, a sunken pedestrian area ornamented with sculptures and congruent with the road axis, connects the new Staatsgalerie with the sculpture garden. The natural sounds of the surroundings are transformed into harmonious sound movements.
