In addition to a new football stadium the ongoing building project includes a sport boarding school, a building to be home to the first team of FC Bunyodkor, an indoor swimming pool with Olympic-size pool as well as smaller buildings to house an energy centre and a new media channel. Planned as a steel-reinforced concrete structure with a lightweight membrane roof, the stadium will hold approx. 35,000 spectators. The two-level stadium measures some 220 x 180 m, the top level is approximately 22 m above ground. When finished the whole of the stadium will stand on top of a fullsize underground car park. The Sport School building has been designed as a steel-reinforced concrete skeleton frame with bracing shear wall columns. The design envisages a three-storey complex measuring approximately 120 x 80 m. As well as school rooms and living accommodation facilities at the sport school will include a swimming pool and a gymnasium for its approx. 200 pupils.
