The strong growth in the size of the population living in the Stavanger region of Norway will continue in the coming years. As a consequence, new housing will be needed for newcomers and existing residents alike. Madla Revheim, an area covering some 780,000 km², will play an important part in this development. It is planned to build some 4,000 residential units. The master plan that has been drawn up envisages a district in which everything the residents need is just a short distance from where they live. The objective is for the district to guarantee the inhabitants the highest possible standard of living. With this in mind, planning will not only take urban planning aspects into consideration but also mobility and energy.
