Architect Christoph Ingenhoven designed a transparent U-shaped office building for the firm Swarovski which stands at Männedorf on the western shore of Lake of Zurich. The lake view was decisive for the design, both with regard to the transparency of the facade and to the arrangement of the working places. An underground parking offers 170 parking spaces. On the ground floor there are a lobby, a restaurant, and conference rooms. As the first floor is mounted on a few pillars only, the ground floor offers enormous flexibility of use. Also the office areas located in the upper floors offer high flexibility, as 70 per cent of them are designed as “open spaces”.
